The Parable of the Talents

THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS

Since the yardstick used in measuring a fulfilled/fulfilling ministry has changed from the number of souls won for Christ to the number of church branches and assets portfolio, men of God are now more determined than ever to go to any length inorder to maintain a top position on the ratings.

You have 30 church members; aye awon 30 yen gan o ti lojutu talkless of them having any hope of making heaven, yet you are disturbing God to increase them to 3,000.

Se oro salvation naa le n ba kiri, abi calculation?

What about the parable of the talents you always preach about? That don't apply to you abi? Ti yin ye yin o, Olorun naa de mo nkan to nse. He has given everyone according to their abilities, and He's expecting you to work on what He has given you to increase it.

Instead of you working on the 30 to make their lives become attractive enough to draw souls into God's kingdom , se le ko church leaflets le won lowo bi awon to nta insurance policy, e wa da won si town centre ki won lo ma wa customers wa. Ti awon naa ba de orita tan, they'll meet groups from other churches who are also there for similar pupose.
Tomato Plum lasan ni a ni ka sare jade lo ra, leaflets different churches merin la ko pada wa sile! That's not evangelism! That's marketing!

The people followed Jesus Christ everywhere he went because his life was attractive. Won ri ami lara Jesu Kristi ti o mu won gbaagbo - John 6:2.
Sugbon awon 30 te ran jade o ni ami kankan lati fi han! Aye awon ti won fe lo pin leaflets fun gan san ju ti won lo, so they are looking at them thinking what you are even offering ain't working for you, so why should we accept it?

Aye to ba lojutu nikan lo n kede igbala!

You don't even know the houses of these 30 members, how can you know 3000? You don't know or share in their personal pains and burdens, how can you do for 3,000? These 30 who are the pillars of your ministry are still weak in faith, how can they support the 3000?

Whose interest are you pursuing- God's kingdom or your own empire?

Go back and work on the 30 members God has put in your care. Change your prayers from 'Lord, give me more members...' to 'O Lord, do not let any of these ones you have given me be lost to the world. Make their lives attractive to draw more souls into your kingdom...'

These 30 are your 1 TALENT that the master has given you to trade with. Don't bury it because you consider it too little! Work and multiply it. Empower the 30 to go out there and affect another 30.

Different gifts, different callings

Kirk Franklin o ni ogo ju mi lo, ogo wa kan yato ni.
Nkan ti mo le se, ko le se. Nkan ti ohun naa de le se, emi naa o le se.

Bo se gba award to yen, ti won ba pe ko wa k'orin isoji, walahi awon enia ma sun ni. Ti won ba de pe emi naa ki nwa ko 'Yur-Yur Gospel', o likely ki n fumble.

So if you have a music concert and you cannot afford Kirk Franklin's charges, e wa wo wipe afterall won o ti nominate mi fun BET award ri but i'm equally a good singer, and you can just put £50 inside envelope to invite me to perform like Kirk, eyin gangan le f'owo ara yin ba concert yin je o.

There's every likelihood that i won't turn up because ogo ti mo ni ju £50 lo, but if at all i honour the invite (maybe after meeting my demands), i'll only perform to my strength and not to Kirk's.

Ti e ba wa nmu note after notes wa ba mi lori stage tabi ti e nran awon protocols si mi, on what you want me to do, ma ma ya awon notes yen ni, mo de ma ma le awon protocols yin danu.

Samuel was a prophet, ohun lo ye ko rubo. The moment you are urging Saul to carry out the role of Samuel, e fe fa ijoba e ya niyen. Emi o de ni gba ki anybody fa ijoba mi ya.

So if Kirk can be paid thousand of dollars and lodged in a 5-star hotel, for a 10-minute performance, why can't i be given the same treatment? Can he sing to raise the dead? Is it because i don't have as many awards? Is it because i don't put on lipstick or eye shadow? Is it because i sing in a different language?

We should learn to respect and celebrate individual's gifts and callings.
Gbogbo wa la ni ogo, sugbon enia nw'oju, Olorun lo nwo okan.

Phonetics Made Easy

Are you a Nigerian?
Fed up of your local accent?
Preparing to travel home for Xmas and want to speak like a Britico when you get there?

I have good news for you. Learn to speak phonetics in 3 simple steps:

1. Insert 'R' in the middle or at the end of every word. The exception is when 'T' ends a word; Don't pronounce the ' T'. Make it silent.

2. Pretend you have saliva in your mouth while trying to speak.

3. Lift your chin, tilt your head to the side of your choice (preferably to the left), breath only at the beginning of a sentence and use that same breath to complete all you have to say.

E.g:

I went to Yaba to eat.

Will be:

I wernt tor Yarbar tor ea

You gerrit?

Now Practice.....practice......practice.

Congrats and welcome to Brihish arksent bloween club.

Super Mega Conventions

The song of late Bayo Adegboyega comes to mind this morning:
'Ododo ni ngbe orile ede leke, ka f'imo s'okan ka jo gbe ogo ile yi ga'.
Only truth uplifts the glory of a nation, let's come united to lift the glory of the nation high.

Experience, Shiloh, Holy Ghost conference and all other super mega meetings are in progress, with the various venues filled to the maximum capacity, yet nothing works in the country.

Worshippers, after each day's event, go back home to sleep in darkness, turn up to work the next day expecting somebody to bribe them before they do the job they are being paid for, tear some people down for themselves to rise, sabotage the efforts of the government, fail to tell the truth, commit all other acts of wickedness, and then turn up in the evening to continue the one-week long annual event, lifting up 'holy' hands, gyrating to the beats of the worldship, and laughing to the jokes of the invited comedians.

At the end of the whole charade, their lives remain the same, the country get worse, and some people smile to the bank.

'Let's lift up our voices to pray that God should heal Nigeria', but some of the cankerworms eating up the country are special guests in these same programmes, sited in reserved bullet proof cubicles. Their hosts cannot tell them the truth because all na padi-padi arrangement.

The only time you'll see equal number of crowd gather here in the UK is during a football match, yet the system works far better.
The know for a fact that God don't  fix light, God don't fight corruption, God don't fix systems. These things are for them as individuals to sort out!
They understand and pratice accountability, integrity and fairness even without congregating in any place of worship.

What is the purpose of attending these huge events when no one practices what is being preached? The wicked is still wicked. The unjust is unjust still. Evil still abound in the land.

Ayekooto Jeremy 'Jagaban' Corbyn

The world hates a man with gut.
The world loathes a man that lives by his principles.
They make friends with a liar and adore the hypocrite
They just love it when we all 'sleep facing the same position'.

'Jeremy Corbyn did not sing the national anthem. He's unpatriotic and a disgrace'. Really? Is that all there is to patriotism? Singing of national anthem? What of pushing policies that'll help the people and the country become better?
Who knows what was going in his mind while he stayed slient. Maybe one of the things he'll be pushing for if he ever becomes the prime minister, is a better and more representative national anthem which will mention the country's values, and the achievement of those who have made this country great.

'He's always slouched in casual clothes. He's not fit to be a leader'.  Really?

I think i'm beginning to take special interest in this man- his gut, style and principles. I think he's another version of Boris Jonhson. They sometimes don't look the part, but they perform-and that's all that matters.

Effective communication

Sharout to those people who think it's rude for somebody to send them sms or email instead of making a call to pass the same message.

Communication is an exchange of information between 2 or more people in a manner that the message gets to the intended recipients, and it's understood. The main points are: the message, is delivered, and meaningful.
Ki lo wa ye ko ma fa ibinu? Aye ti lu jara won....effective communication lo se koko bayi, onankona lo de le je- especially the option that is the fastest, cheapest, and simplest.

RED CARD

The enemy does this all the time- he'll possess someone very close to you with the same spirit that's tormenting Diego Costa, to be constantly provoking you over trivials, until you react badly and get red carded.

It's crucial for the enemy to do everything for you to lose because you are playing on his home ground-the Earth, and he knows what is at stake if you come out victorious. He can't stand the shame of losing.

For you to survive the entire period of the match and still claim the prize, you need a coach like the Holy Spirit on your bench.
He knows you are a work-in-progress, so he'll be there calming you down when your nerves become frail. He' ll be shouting orders to you from the touchline not to react to any provocation. 'C'mon....get up and go, 20 more mins,.....10 more mins, ....you are almost there don't lose it', He'll keep giving you instructions on how to beat the enemy at his own game.

If you play this sort of game with a coach who sits on his cushioned chair, and allows you to behave any how you like, you'll get red carded like those who were provoked till they committed GBH. You'll get red carded like those who reacted badly to provocation which led to murder. You'll get red carded like those who lost their minds and committed suicide.

I know this kind of game too well. I have seen many many of it. The enemy is a master at it but I won't fall for his trick. I've got a better coach on my side. My eyes are fixed only on the prize. I take charge of my mind.

You too can do the same- get the Holy Spirit on your team. Keep your eyes focused on the prize ahead. Take charge of your mind.

Game on!

Who will set the pace?

I'm waiting to see the first pastor that'll use the hoverboard while preaching, and what bible passage will be used to support his action.

Jesus walking on water?
Jesus using Peter's boat to preach?

Before long, just like ipad, it'll become a 'church' accessory that every member will have to own one and use when coming forward for anointing impartation, holy communion or to drop thanksgiving offering and other seeds.

Impossible is nothing. I don see am in the spirit, just waiting for the manifestation. Na here we dey when worship leaders and instrumentalists  dey give recording devices to people to record their performances during the 'worship of the Almighty', for them to upload on their social media portals to become more famous.

Good people of this wicked world, I greet all of you, good afternoon!

Body Perfect

Sisi mi to fe marry, you spend all your time in the gym doing squating, and toning your abs but you have no HOME values to take into your marriage.
You don't know how to cook, se protein shake lo ma ma fun oko re mu?
You stand in front of the mirror in your room to take body shots of your 'perfect body', but the reflection from the mirror shows the imperfect state of your life- even a pig will refuse to be kept in that your room. O mo itoju inu ile rara!

It's amazing how we have all been deceived into pursuing things that don't matter while we ignore the ones that matters- VALUES.

These female celebs have succeeded in turning their own body defects (what they don't like about themselves) into the standard image ladies should look.
Kim Kadershian has big lips, she made it glamorous that ladies are now filling thier lips with silicon. The poor ones are sucking in Lacasera bottles to get the same effect, while the others simply adopt pout-as-you- go like Victoria Beckham.
Rihanna has big forehead (opon), with receded hairline, many are pursuing that now as well.
The desire to look like Nikki Minaj, with her fake hips and bumbum, has driven every female to the gym to be squating.

Beyonce will come and sing in her record how you as a woman should not submit to the authority of the man (women empowerment) yet it does not seem she's following the same advise in her own marriage. She's using wisdom to build her own home while encouraging you to break yours.
She calls you bitches (e check meaning e), and you are happy! You think it's right because Bey said it! You too proudly refer to yourselves as bitches and behave rightly so! What happens to a name like woman of valour? Ohhh...that's too Victorian innit? Continue.

OK, i'm not encouraging every woman who think it's right to just be eating and fattening up like a Rhino, because that's not even healthy, but there should be a balance.

Floyd Mayweather: 'I always knew what i wanted'

'I always knew what I wanted to do. I had a game plan. I'm 10 steps ahead of any fighter.
My career is over. It's official. I'm financially secure and i'm in good health. I'm leaving with all my faculties, I'm still sharp and smart. I've accomplished everything, there's nothing else to accomplish. ' - Floyd Mayweather

Ladies and gentlemen, this was his signing off statement from professional boxing as he had planned, going out unbeaten and on his own terms as 'The Best Ever' after improving his career record to 49-0.

This is a statement of fulfilment but not everyone will be able to talk like this at the end of the day.
Only those who discovered who they are, had a plan, worked out the plan and ignored distractions will be able to stand and speak in this fulfilled manner.

Up till now, do you know who you are?
Do you know what you want to do with your life?
Do you have a plan?
Are you following your plan?
Are you focused?
Are you confident in yourself?
How are you treating the negative voices around you?

Floyd, is one of the most hated boxers in the world, even those who do not follow boxing hate him as an individual, for his arrogance and flamboyance. But he does not care. He worked hard for everything he has achieved. He had his eyes only on his goal.
Today, he's finished. Complete. Fulfilled. He's making the headlines and they are reading about it.

So I recap:
Discover yourself
Set a plan
Work your plan
Be focused
Ignore side distractions
Be confident
Be positive

Y'all go back home sorrowful still, because you have not been touched by your idols.
You have been scammed.
They laugh to the bank wondering how y'all can be so foolish

The prisons are businesses, run by the thieves.
They pay  your idols to side track you with their tracks to these facilities for them to make money off you.
They refer to it as a correctional facility but you shouldn't be there in the first place if you had not surrendered your mind to them.
You have been scammed.
They too laugh to the bank wondering how y'all can be so foolish.

Then comes along another bigger scammer,
They go to Bangladesh to produce a pair of sneakers with cheap labour at the cost of $1
They give it to your idol free of charge, to help them influence you to kill if possible, to to buy a pair at the cost of $4000.
The satisfaction you get for owing a pair of this sneakers ends immediately after you hand them your cash.
You have been scammed.

RE: Texas County clerk jailed over gay marriage stance

(PLEASE READ WITH AN OPEN MIND OR DON'T READ AT ALL)

I'm a Christian. I have given my life to Christ. I believe in the word of God. I'm not brainwashed.

RE: Texas County clerk jailed over gay marriage stance. These are my submissions.

1. The State is secular. I.e a nation ruled by written secular laws established by the people and their representatives.
There's an Article within the constitution which refers it as that the supreme law of the land, and not the bible.  There's an amendment within this Constitution which not only protected individual's religious freedoms, but also prevented the government from imposing religion on others.

2. Kim Davis, the County Clerk was employed by the State and she swore by the same Constitution to abide by it in the discharge of her duties.

3. She was being paid to carry out certain responsibilities, part of which is to issue marriage licences under the provisions of the secular laws, not according to her own religious beliefs.

4. Is she right about the belief she holds? Yes. The bible opposes homosexuality and marriage as ordained by God is between a man and a woman. It is a sin and abomination. Leveticus18:22, 20:13, Gen2:18-25

5. Is she right the way she had gone about it by refusing to work while still retaining her job? No. She did not follow the instruction in the bible in Rom13:1, which called for respect for authority, especially the one paying her $80k a year to do her job.

6.  At the point she discovered that the decision of the State to allow Gay couples marry was detrimental to her own religious beliefs, she has a right within the laws to resign her position for being unable to carry out tasks which negates her own religious beliefs, and she'll not be prosecuted for taking such a decision.
She was also offered other options part of which, she should allow the other clerks under her who do not share her religious belief carry on with the issuing of licences without her involvement, and she refused.
In doing this, I think she has also violated the same offence of religious liberty by imposing her personal religious views on others.  She refused to do her job, vacate the position or allow others to do the job she has refused to do. This is insurbodination and violation of the law of the land, and this is why she was jailed.  Now, if she were to resign as county clerk, then she is Kim Davis, Private Citizen and she can object to gay marriage all she likes.
I don't see her as being persecuted, rather she was the one who has  failed to differentiate between the freedom to exercise her religion and her responsibility as an agent of the state to carry out the law.

7. Jesus Christ laid an example for us in Mark 12:14-17. Matt 17:24-27. He could have told his disciples to ignore because their kingdom is not of this world. But he respected the authority of the land as established by God.

8. The bible did not encourage us to go about causing uprising and raising divisions in the city and towns because the laws of the land do not favour us. It told us just NOT TO CONFORM. Rom12:2.
We must understand that being in the world, but not of it, is necessary if we are to be a light to those who are in spiritual darkness. We are to live in such a way that those outside the faith see our good deeds and our manner and know that there is something “different” about us. Christians who make every effort to live, think and act like those who do not know Christ do Him a great disservice. Even the unbelievers knows that “by their fruits you shall know them,” and as Christians, we should exhibit the fruit of the Spirit within us. Daniel chose not to eat of the king's recommended diet. He did not go about complaining about what they were being served neither did he insist that the others be served the same as his. He simply decided not to eat. She wants to carry on eating while appearing different from the rest.

9. Homosexuality is a sin 100%, but it's just a sin like every other ones we ignore. It carries the same spiritual punishment of DEATH like the rest of sins e.g stealing, fornication, adultery, lying, back biting, forgery, false witnesses etc.
Satan is the ruler of this cosmos and he'll keep pushing agendas that'll make believers uncomfortable. The onus is on us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
Many of us condemning homosexuals are still liars, benefit cheats, forgers of timesheets, make fraudulent tax submissions, make false insurance claims etc. We are no different from the homosexuals. If we do not repent our ways, we'll all end up in the same place- HELL!

10. No law has been passed yet that churches  should not preach the truth in the word of God as it regards homosexuality.
No law has been passed yet FORCING the priests to marry gay couples in their places of worship, something which negates one of the core beliefs of their faith. When any of these happen, then we can start to talk about persecution.

Note:
State laws differ from country to country. Nigeria for example has a law prohibiting the practise of homosexuality, while it's an acceptable practise in USA and UK. This is a reflection of individual countries' values and culture. That's why each country is a soverign state.

I submit.

Time and Dedication

His other car is a Rolls Royce Ghost.
He resumes for work everyday by 8am.
He runs a luxury interior decoration and fittings business. For clarity sake, he sells curtains and rugs etc.
He's over 70yrs old and i've not yet seen him with a staff. He runs it by himself.

Lesson:

Sucess requires TIME & DEDICATION.

Extra explanations for those who don't/won't understand the short statement above:

1. If you like you can go and be praying at the grave of Idahosa, you cannot make it if you are lazy. This man at his age and with his financial worth should have taken to relax-golfing and gardening now as his daily grind but he's still hustling. Iwo o n'ise. O la lo, o l'abo, wa kan sun bonaku kale... gbogbo nkan daadaa lo de nwu ole e. Gbo mi o, kii se epe, but ebi ni npa monamoma ku.

2. If you leave your dream in the hands of others to manage for you, it'll die. I'm not even sure his company has a website but his direct involvement has brought him the success he desired.
Let me make a practical example here: You run a business but won't show up until 1pm, by which time your shop assistants would have made enough profits for themselves in your absence, and damage your reputation alongside. By the time you realise what they are doing and sack them, they have already formed business relationships with your clients. All they need to do now is set up themselves as your direct competitor with the same contacts they built while working for you.
Oju oloju o le dabi oju eni. I have seen this over and over again. If you want somethig done, do it by yourself.

3. This is not a new business and the owner is equally old. Success requires time. This man has built whatever he has now over a considerable period of time. He did not arrive where he is overnight.
Stop wishing, start something. Work tirelessly on it. Treat it like a hot coal that you need to fan to flames, else it'll smoulder out. If it's not yielding results now don't quit. Keep working...keep pushing. Don't give up. All crops do not have the same harvest period. What you are planting will determine the time of your harvest. Be patient!

4. He sells curtains and fittings- and rides a Ferrari and a RR Ghost. This might not correlate but it does not need to. That's the mystery behind FINDING YOURSELF OUT. Some people have even acquired more by just posting videos on youtube. Iyen tun nko?
Stop running on the wrong lane. Find your own purpose and calling, and put all your best behind it. You too can ride a jet!

Goodmorming.

Self Discovery

Even if all you are doing is tip-toeing, as long as you are heading in the right direction, you are far better than somebody with speed but no direction.

Stop this jamojamo and papapa that you are doing upon and down and first discover yourself.

Self discovery gives you a clear description of your destination. You can then plan your route and set your speed.

If you get this right, you'll live your life with convictions and not based on opinions of others.
You'll die empty and happy because you have used up every resources deposited in you for the right purpose.
It can then be said of you that you got THERE.

Each time I see people speeding to nowhere, I flag them down to whisper to them that "nobody becomes a champion by speeding on a wrong lane."

So let me recap:

- Know your destination
- Plan the route
- Set your speed.

Goodmorning!

Why can't we all just live?

All men are created equal.
Why do you allow them make you feel inferior?
Why do you have to live your life proving anything to anybody?
Why do you allow them place you in a role they'll not place themselves?
Why can't you just live?

Goodmorning

Think or die ignorant

An Education that only teaches you how to read and write is no education. Now is the right time to quit and enrol in one that'll teach you how to think.

This is how it works as at today: The world right now is in search of solution. Solution can only be found in right thinkers. So if you can't think right, you are only occupying space on earth- you are not useful. The world don't need you. They won't find you out. You can't find a fit. You are just a part of the problem.

Only thinking challenges status quo.
Thinking find a better and smarter way of doing things.

You love your smartphone where you can receive, send, scan docs wherever you are, to anywhere in the world, right? Yea, thinking made it possible. Those who cannot think are those on the divide of the ignorant that'll usually scoff the efforts of thinkers and chorus 'it's not possible. You have to get to a cybercafe to scan and send your document'.

Thinking makes everything possible.

It's high time we started to acquire knowledge that are useful and relevant to our betterment rather than learning to be part of the world's problem.

Guess why the builders, technicians & other experts  will always find work? Because they can do! The world is in search of doers not talkers. The office can only accommodate a few, and the struggle is real. While some are acquiring more qualifications to get there, the other die-hard hustlers are 'sleeping' their ways to the same position.
McDonald's is now setting up their stores to be self-serving. Banks are doing the same. Those staffs who are part of the organisation's problems (always complaining, calling in sick etc) are gradually been relieved of their duties. Only the doers are being retained behind these robots to monitor and maintain them. The rest of the thinkers are up the chart of the organisation, plotting the next smarter and better move.

Think or die ignorant!

Congratulations on your graduation!

Now that you have graduated....
You have made your parents proud.
You have proved to the world that you are not a dullard.
You have earned the bragging right of being called a graduate
That graduation picture of yours has been hung proudly alongside those of your brothers and sisters in the family living room.

NOW IT IS TIME TO DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR OF DISCOVERING YOURSELF.

The journey of your destiny has nothing to do with your degree, but your self-discovery.
You cannot find fulfilment in living the life others chose for you.
You cannot get far on the path someone else cleared for you. You need to find your own path.

Congratulations on wasting that 5yrs studying law only to realise now that there are no vacancies for lawyers, and even where you find one, you are paid the same salary as your dad's driver and moreover your job role will be similar to admin/clerical duties because you have no experience. Anyway, be happy because no knowledge is a waste. If you end up finding your fulfilment in being an art collector, atleast you'll have a better knowledge of drawing up contracts and protecting yourself. Not too bad for 5yrs of study na, abi?

How can somebody that studied media/creative arts be sitting at home submitting applications  after applications for employment after graduation? I really don't think such a person is creative in the first place. You have wasted your time mate!

Anyway, this is my drift: You have made everyone else happy and proud, now is the time to make yourself happy and proud. Go find your fit.

Go back to your source, your creator and find out your purpose.

Don't die unfulfiled!
Goodmorning.

Recipe: How To Prepare Success

Think deep and work hard.

You don't come by great ideas without thinking deep. You need to also know that great ideas don't become realities without a lot of hardwork.

There'll be moments of personal struggle and doubt; you'll need to be determined and strong to survive these hard times.

To get the best, you need to work with the best.
Keep your team small but strong.

Above all, be patient. Take your time and be thorough.

Noooooo! Pulease Don't!

If anybody is owing you money, pulease don't use the method prescribed by Rihanna in her new video and song as the way to go o.
Don't kidnap.
Don't hire people to go and help you torture the person.
Don't abduct, torture, or kill the relative of the person.
Don't kill somebori or anybori o.

She might be proving she's above the law-that she can kill and get away with it. Iyen ninu film. Don't get deceived, there is a law in the land that forbids murder. If you try it them go catch you and you too will be sentenced to death. Rihanna will not come and bail you o. She'll be on the island somewhere smoking her bung and sniffing anything sniffable. Ko ran iyalaya e nise o.

She is a servant of somebori just like i am a servant of sombori. Ise ti won ba ran iko ni iko nje. The message she has been sent by her master is what she has delivered. Me too i'm delivering the message i have been sent by my own master.

The message she has delivered within 7mins and already seen by over 10m people including me, is about drugs, alcoholism, kidnap, turture, murder, violence and nudity (though this one don't need mention again). I am not one of those to be deceived. I have seen the light and I know whose report i should believe. However, me who have seen the light have been sent to show the light to other people so they do not walk on the path of darkness.

Thank God you cannot call me over-spiri because you know i be balanced individual.
You can't refer to me as naive because i'm an artist myself, and a creative one for that matter, so i know what i know.
I don't weave conspiracy because i'm not as well-read as those who specialises in that. I'm just talking from the point of view of sombody with the third eye.

The idea is to destroy as many as possible through whatever means available.

Won ni get yin o!

Me: Why? What is wrong with you?

Her: ...So I can hold down my skirt, the wind keep lifting it up and exposing me.

Me: Soro niyen?

She: Pardon me?

How to cut a tree in 9Hours

Give me a task to chop down a tree in 9hrs and i'll be there sharpening my axe for 6hrs.

In as much as i know that mistakes are part of life, i don't like making them. I like to get things right at the first attempt in the smartest possible way.
This requires one thing- Preparation.

I see the planning/preparation stage as the most important of all the stages within a start-finish process.
This stage determines how much effort it'll require to finish a task or wether you'll even finish at all.

I like to first think through a task from beginning to the end to have an overview of the whole picture. Then, i try to figure out how i can simplify the whole process to reduce the labour (effort), cost and minimise or totally eradicate mistakes/errors.

There are some tasks that do not give the luxury of time to plan, what i do in those circumstances is to quickly evaluate the existing process of executing those types of task, and improve on them by eleminating the dormant, irrelevant and duplicated steps within the process and add my own new quick steps.

Hurrying through this stage had cost so many people fortunes.
Make all the mistakes you need to make at this stage before you proceed.
All the secrets you need to start and finish successfully are hidden within this stage.Take along with you all the valuables this stage has to offer.
Don't leave this stage empty-handed.

Sharp Daddy

Wife: Darling, what plans do you have for us this year o as regards the holiday? You remember how you got so angry last year when i told you the kids would like to go to Disneyland, and you said Redemption camp is better for them. Which camp are you taking us this year, Deeper or MfM?

Sharp Daddy: I have been planning big time for this year because the kids have behaved themselves well in their academics and all round, so i think everyone deserves a treat, including you; you have been a good wife.

Wife (blushing and smilling sheepishly and repeatedly blinking her eyes): Aww...thank you! O se oko mi. The kids will be so excited. So what are the plans? Tell me....

Sharp Daddy: I am just waiting for the Greece issue to be resolved, and thank God they are nearing a solution now. Once that is done, we are flying to Greece, they have beautiful holiday resorts for families. Ama gbadun ara wa.

Wife (looking irritated): Greece? And what happens if they are not able to resolve the crisis till the kids' holidays are over?

Sharp Daddy: Then we'll go another time. You are talking as if Greece will move away from earth. There'll always be another time.

Wife: Ohhh no! The kids will be very disappointed!

Sharp Daddy: Well, let them be! Are they the ones to be controlling me in this house or me control them? Look, woman take your time ko ma ni mi lara o!

Wife: Ok. Why don't we go somewhereelse? I saw a very good offer for a family of 4 for 7 nights in Dubai for £8,000...and that's including a 4-star hotel accomodation and flights ticket. I think it's a very good offer.....

Sharp Daddy: 8-kini? £8,000 to go to a desert? By the way if you are ready to die you can go alone and don't take my kids with you. I am not ready to die.

Wife: Death? How?

Sharp Daddy: You are asking how? How far is Tunisia to Dubai? Did you hear what happened there recently? By the way, should dying even cost £8,000? B'iku se cheap to bayi, must we pay to die again?
Iwo obinrin lo so ara re o! Ma gbabode ti mi o! If care is not taken, i'll ban holiday-talks in this house indefinitely to ba je wipe every year le ma ma ni mi lara o!

No Shame

The rain held me back in the office for another 45mins and with no sign of it stopping any time soon, i decided to make way anyhow so as to catch up with my other 2 appointments for the day.

On stepping outside, i realised i can't manage this without a proper covering, the nearest bus stop or station to me is 7-10mins away. I will be wet to my bone marrows.
So i decided to chill hoping that a black cab will pass by that i can use, but it was as if they knew i was waiting- none came around for over 15mins.
Anyway, i braved it and just as i entered the rain, it poured down more. I started to run. No shelter. No black cab. Nothing.

As i was thinking of making my way to a shelter made by scaffolding, i ran passed a broken umbrella that was binned by the angry owner. I wanted to take it but my arrogant mind, that sometimes put me into trouble commanded me to move on. 'you are a big boy, you cannot be behaving like a scavenger.' It said to me. I quickly obeyed and ran to the shelter. No time to be thinking under that torrent of rain.

Just as i got under the shelter, my humble and good mind told me to go back and take the umbrella otherwise i'll just suffer unnecessarily.

So, i galloped back like a big boy and retrieved the umbrella. I unfolded it, found out it was branded by Marriott Hotel, where i usually have lunch with my rich friends, i smiled not minding the 2 oyinbo gbeboruns looking at me, and put it over my head.

I made my way to the bus stop partially wet but proud of my decision.

No shame!

Rule Your Own Mind: Don't get Played

They'll call you to a little corner to tell you of how hard you are being made to work for less pay.

They'll remind you of how the management don't appreciate the hard work you put into doing the work you are getting paid for.

They'll tell you not to get comfortable where you are because the grass is greener in other lands.

Then, they close by telling you that they are already plotting their own exit plans too, and won't be staying in the job for much longer.

After they are done with sowing this seed of bitterness in you, they stand back and watch you water the plant to germination,(they enjoy this process) coming occassionally to help you water it whenever they see that you have neglected it.

After you have heard these words, you become mentally tired and stressed. The job that used to be relatively easy now becomes cumbersome.
You no longer take pleasure in doing anything. Your smile is gone; your pride is taken away.

These things are constantly playing in your head: you want more money. You want less work. You want to be appreaciated.

You become disconnected and lazy.

The management, unable to condone your unproductivity anylonger will kick you out before your negative vibe infect others.

Clap for yourself, you have been played. You have willingly cooperated with the manipulators to add you to their growing list of victims.

Chance will bring you and these people together again years later for the final shocker.
These people will tell you that they are still at the same place of work. What of the exit plans they had, you'll ask?
They'll tell you they didn't have to carry it out anylonger because 'bread crumbs is better than no bread', and by the way, they are now being treated well and enjoying the place.
They'll then scold you for your act of foolishness, and for letting your emotions get in the way of your thinking.

These people are not only found in the places of work, they are constantly lurking around marriages, they are circling around entrepreneurs, they are breathing down your neck at that important moment of making life-defining decision.

Watch it! Don't make your life a fertile ground for them to sow negative seeds.
If you need to change your job, let it be your own decision, and until then, enjoy it and put in your best.
If you need to quit your marriage, make it your own decision.
If you need to change your business, make it your own decision.

Stay in charge of your own mind. Rule your own affairs.

The Battle At The Top

Lord John Sewel, Deputy speaker of the House of Lords, was secretly filmed snorting cocaine off the breast of a prostitute and trying on her orange bra.
One of the prostitutes is heard asking: 'How bad do you want to be tonight then?"  Lord Sewel replies: "I just want to be led astray." (His reply left me in stitches. The man na real badoo 😂😂😂)

Anyway, his wish was granted and the disgraced deputy speaker- whose duties included upholding standards among peers, has since resigned his position after the video came to limelight. (This is why i like this divide of the world. If na Africa, the man no dey go anywhere! Resign for taking ordinary cocaine? E de beru Olorun...Haba!!! Resign for sleeping with oloso?! Haba!!! Im kill person?!😎)

Ok, the real gist is that enia kan tun ti jabo lati oke niyen (somebody has again fallen off from the top).
I keep saying it that, to get to the top is not as hard as staying there. There is also a pattern in the causes behind the falls- Owo, Obinrin, Okiki (Money, Women, Fame).

So is anyone immuned from falling from the top? The answer is a capital NO. Anybody that is not careful and wise can fall.

To remain at the top, you need to be reminding yourself from time to time not to loosen your helmet because the head is the target at the top.
The battle at the top is at the fiercest level you can get. Never let down your guard at anytime lest the enemies sieze this moment to attack. The enemies make the maximum use of any opportunity they get. They go for the kill!
To remain at the top, make caution your bossom friend.

Best Before Date vs Expiry Date

Lecture Irole:

Expiry date is different from Best before date.

While the best before date is concerened about quality (freshness), expiry date is more about safety (health).

Ti e ba je eyin to ti koja best before date, walahi e o le ku. Koda gan ko ni ya yin nigbe. It's just that what you are eating is no longer of good quality.

Se e mo wipe orisirisi chemical ni won fi se awon nkan elo yen just to extend their shelf life. Chemical ni ojo to ma parada kuro ni preservatives to ma di poison o.

So ensure you check the dates on the products you buy before you leave the store. E o ni je majele o.

I hope from now on you won't get confused with these 2 different pieces of information again.

1998

I think it was in 1998 that the spirit of Ogbanje invaded the land, and our ladies started to carry teddy bears around.
I don't know how it started but the spread was massive as so many ladies willingly surrendered themselves to be possesed by this evil spirit.
It became so bad that they were bringing these teddies to the lecture halls, some even carry it along when going to grind pepper.
The ones who had a legion of Ogbanje spirit in them would add sucking of their thumbs to carring the teddybears.
Before we realised what was happening, what used to be a play-thing for toddlers became the major fashion item used in identifying a big girl.

I witnessed this at Kwara Poly at the time but i'm sure it would have been the same throughout the various institutions of learning in Nigeria.
While not trying to diss those that attended private Unis, i think this would have been understadable if they were the ones seen all over the place with teddies. It won't call for so much concern as it did (not so many of them were around then), but this strange occurence was seen at public institutions where they ought to know better.
It was indeed a pathetic sight to behold- to see adult children carrying teddybears and sucking their fingers in the compound of a tertiary school. It's enough to cause any parent to weep! This was exactly what i did- i wept on behalf of all the parents whose daughters were possessed by this evil spirit.

This went on for few years after and then the spirit either got cast out or was bored (because we sabi over-do things) and left.

In 2006, another spirit landed (by this time i was already in London). This was a spirit sent into the world to embarass people. Again, this spirit possessed mainly the ladies. It went about handing out baby suckers to ladies to be sucking. The spirit invaded the secondary schools and colleges mainly (i don't know much about the Universities then because i still dey find tution fees up and down).
There were many designs and colours of this sucker. It was another horrible sight to behold. How can a teenager or somebody on the borderline of adulthood be sucking rubber? The spirit also left after it got bored.

I'm witnessing another trend now which i'll talk about later.

Official Letter: Nigerian Format

Let me quickly say this before i go to bed, and probably it'll save somebody from committing another grave mistake of sending another rude 'official email' tommorrow morning.

Nigerians, especially those in priviledged positions at government offices or private companies, don't understand the format of formal/official letter or email.
The only interpretation they have of it is that YOU ARE RUDE.

Why do you think you are not getting feedbacks from the several emails you have sent to follow up that your application? You are rude ni!

How can you write:

'Dear sir,
I write in regards of the application submitted on the 15th of July 2015.

Kindly furnish me with any update on the process.

Best regards,

Akin VòGg'

Such a letter is going into the bin with a big long hiss behind it, or the email is removed with a loud bang on the delete button.
Mschew...furnish ko, furniture ni! Rubbish!!!

This is the format to write a formal/official letter to a decision-maker in Nigeria:

Dear Sir,

Goodafternoon sir o. How is the family and your health?

Please sir o, don't be offended that i'm sending another email(or letter) to ask about the progress of the application i submitted on the 15th of July 2015. I don't mean to be disturbing you sir because i know you are a very busy man. Please sir pardon me o. I'm your son o.

Please sir, i'll be very grateful sir if you can just find any means to let me know how far sir. My telephone  number is 08073546621, even if it's ordinary text sir you can send to me for me to come and hear the feedback sir. I'm not even saying you should call me sir, i can call back if you flash me sir. Once i see your flash, i'll know it's you sir.

Don't forget me sir. God will not forget you too.

Your humble servant,

Akin VòGg

Brethren can you see the big difference between the two formal letters? If you were the one, which email or letter will you treat with mercy? Which one of the emails/letters will make you feel like the boss that you are?

Oh ho, you sef pick the second abi? So when you know that, why are you sending rude messages up and down and you expect them to reply you?

Use the second format tommorrow and come and thank me later.

For those of you whose money were illegally withdrawn, and have been writing all sorts of rude letters to the manager directly or through your lawyers asking them to return your money, you are only wasting your time o. If you can't go to the bank and naked yourself to get your money, then learn how to write a proper Nigerian formal letter. Learn some respect. Learn some manners.

Goodnight.

Education

Are people really educated or just skilled in literacy?

Is the ability to blow and write complicated grammer enough proof to say that somebody is educated?

Does the degree you get after 4 years of study confer on you the bragging right to say you are educated?

Can we re-define education, please?

Education is the passing down of knowledge, skills, abilities, values and competences.

You can't impress me with your long list of degree awards- especially when any of the elements contained in the definition of education above is missing. As far as i'm concerend, you are an illiterate.

I'm drawn to people by their depth of wisdom.
I respect only those who have the ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired.
I can't give you the merit of being educated just because you attended an ivy-league institution. I need to see how you reason and function before i give you the benefit of doubt.

Education is not speaking english.
Education is not 'quoting quotes'.
Education is FUNCTIONING.

THE WISE ONE

MY MUSIC

Goodmorning friends and thanks for all your support and best wishes.

I want to especially thank those who have been supporting me from way back; those who believed in me when i didn't even believe in myself.

I released a new single  on the 1st of May, 2015 titled WORLDSHIP.
It's a song that was done to address the ills prevalent in the community of Christian today.

Just to highlight to many who don't know, this will be my 5th studio single. Yes...you read it right! 5th! The previous releases are:

 1. OREKE
2. I AM FREE
3. OMO OLOPE
4. ESO PELE

WURAOLA, should have been my latest release as announced on my FB music page, but i had to delay it due to the need to be a part of the voice to address this anomality in the church of God.

I have planted my own little seed of change and it's my prayer that it'll grow and bear multiple fruits.

Special thanks to my producer and brother- Lekan Shobiyi. He's a helper of destiny.

You can listen and download all my

 God bless.

It's 4 WEEKS now that i released my new track WORLDSHIP and no single blogger is talking about it. I'm not surprised though, as it's not a useless gossip they are used to like Rihanna not wearing bra or Beyonce ti o wo pata. UNCLE FITTED

When you want FITTED and then end up looking like an overstuffed sausage.

This is self-delusion at its peak. It's not healthy. It's not comfortable. It's not even fashionable.

This man here or anyone who dresses in a similar fashion can have a heart attack anytime, because tight clothes or dresses impede blood circulation which could trigger cardiovascular complications....

Only right-fitting clothes make people look fashionable and attractive. So buy or tailor right-fitting clothes to make you feel comfortable and smart.

The way this man is dressed here is very troubling.

I am convinced that my circle is the main reason why i'm stucked on this same level.

You see, there is a circle that appreciates and reward, and there is a circle that appreciates but don't reward. I am sorrounded by the latter....
I will keep getting appreciated but not rewarded if i retain this current circle as my target.

Now, crossing over to the other circle is not as straightforward as it looks. In asmuch as they reward, they demand more. They do not settle for less. They do not tolerate mediocrity. So in essence, my present level of operation is considered not impressive. I NEED TO DO MORE. I NEED TO INCREASE VALUE.

If i keep adding value while expecting or trying to force out reward from this current circle i belong to, there would be a revolt as they do not see any reason why i should demand for more reward. My curent level is ok as far as they as concerned. Infact i'm better than many in their own rating. E sa mo wipe nilu afoju, oloju kan l'oba won.

My circle determines how i think, how i act, and my ultimate success. Getting cozy with their accolades will stop me from improving and cap my growth.

Circles determine your limits. If you are not getting rewarded, check your circle.

If you are doing the same thing others are doing and you are not getting the same result as them, something must definitely be missing.
Before you go on thinking you are under a curse, sit down and find out what is missing....

Instead of spending all your energy on hating and bad-mouthing these result-getters, consider carefully what you are not getting right, which is what is holding you back.

The same amount of energy it'll take you to hate and plot the downfall of others, is the same you'll need to work on yourself and become better. Use this energy wisely and positively.

A fantastic idea with poor projection will get you no result.
A beautiful idea aimed at the wrong demograph will get you no result.
A lovely idea handed over to the wrong team to execute will die.

APPEARANCE OR FRUITS?

Which will take me straight to the right hand of God to seat at the ...feet of Jesus? Adeboye's short-sleeve suit or Oyedepo's extra white?
Which will lead me to hell, Adefarisin's bespoke pinstripe suit or Oritsejafor's swiss-silk extra-long tunics?

The picture of Jesus we hang on our walls and alters, is that really how he looks? Who snap am? If camera no dey, who paint am? Nibo la ti ri? Let sombori who have seen Jesus before come here and tell us bo se ri? So d'irun ni abi o ge low cut abi locs lo gbe ru? Robe lo nwo ni abi suit?

Will not attending church services lead you to hell? If yes, says who?
Why do you have to be in church almost everyday of the week?
Is the spirit of God present in a house where 3 people are gathered or only in a huge auditorium marked as a place of worship?

How did we come about the standards we have today? Doctrines or Biblical? Cultural or heavenly?
Those of you who claim to know the mind of God and can determine how He'll judge, please come here and tell us.
You, that the angel at the gate have already shown the list of those who'll enter heaven and those to be told to depart, please come and tell us the criteria used.

How many wolves in sheep clothing have we accepted into the fold simply because they appeared to be of our approved standard?
How many angels have we pushed away because they looked like lunatics and not the kind of angels that were described to us who are clothed in crystal white garments with wings?

What happened to discernment?

At what point do we draw a line between what we were told, what was written and what we know?

The bible warned us to be careful of getting carried away by APPEARANCE but advised us to focus on FRUITS.
We are doing it the other way round. We overlook the fruits and judge by the appearance.

By thier fruits you shall know them.
By thier appearance you shall be decieved
Matt7:15-20

Are we all going to the same heaven?
At what point ni gbogbo e dojuru bayi?

I'LL TELL PASTOR FOR YOU THAT YOU ARE DRINKING WINE

Some people actually need others to make up their minds for them rather than seek knowledge, hold on to the truth they have discovered, and grow up with it.

Instead of living a confused life of being tossed here and there by varying opinions, there are several ways you can seek knowledge which will help you make an informed decision. Aside picking up a copy of the bible to read what it says concerning drinking, you can also consider the socio-economic-health-financial factors.
You do not need a pastor to endorse whether you should drink or not. Find out for yourself!

Did the bible condemn drinking? NO! The bible condenmed excessive consumption which will DEFINITELY lead one to comit other sins! And as we know, some people lack self-control in everything they do, especially if na awuf! Emu o tan, baba o lo. So if you fall into this category, then simply avoid drinking.

Socially, there are punishable offences that excessive consumption could make you violate. Consider also how excessive consumption of alcohol can damage your health and shorten your lifespan.
What of the financial strain that excessive spending on drinks put on you? Aso o pe meji ninu wardrobe elomi mo. O ti fi gbogbo e muti tan.

So what is moderate?
There is a legal limit set by the government which is considered to be the limit within which you can still function normally in the society without endagering your own life and the lives of others. But guess what? This is some people's excess! So in essence, what is moderate is left for individuals to determine for themselves. Indivuduals should decide what they can handle and stick to it!

Also, let me mention here that turning to alcohol as a form of escaping from a problem or challenge is a form of cowardice. Challenges are there to be confronted and defeated, not masked or ignored.
Alcohol CANNOT help you overcome your challenges, it only make them appear not to exist momentarily until the effect wears off you.

When you consider all these things you'll be well-informed to DECIDE FOR YOUSELF whether you want to drink or not and how much you should consume instead of waiting for a pastor to help you decide.

This goes for all other aspects of our lives as well. God knows the recklessness of man hence He put laws around us as hedges to curb our excesses, to prolong our lives and above all to keep our focus on Him and not get carried away with these distractions.

Many people do a lot of things today not because they have  strong convictions about them but because they are the 'do/do-not followers'.
Pastors ain't helping matters because they preach by form of threat of heaven and hell, and not teaching to impart knowledge. No wonder we have lots of christian pretenders today. They raised them to be so. These people who only do what pleases thier pastors in their presence and behave differently in their closets.
Sirs, please teach people not threaten them. Open their eyes to the truth and leave them to make their own choices. Please engage their God's-given brains and not treat them like mumu. Kindly stick to what the bible says, do not add or take away from it, and then leave the rest for the Holy Spirit, who is in charge of convicting and conversion.

Let us all seek knowledge and truth rather than live our lives based on what somebody else says.
Live according to your own convictions- the truth you have sought out  for yourself, and you don't have to live in fear of what people think about you.

Please, oya come and go and help me tell pastor for me that i drink wine o.
Aproko!

SINCE WHEN

Since when churches' printed leaflets became business cards, both in design and contents.

Since when members of the evangelism team turned religious marketers.

Since when evangelism outreaches became members-sourcing and no longer soul-winning.

Since when the focus shifted from the Holy Spirit to the Only Man.

Since when the reading of the holy scripture inspired by the Holy Spirit was replaced with religious literatures written by a man.

Since when 'Daddy says' replaced 'God says'.

Since when the sitting capacity of the auditorium multiplied by the number of services per week became the focus of the pastorprenuer rather than the number of souls won multiplied by the righteous works exhibited in the society per day.

Since when grace became the fabric used in sewing that arrogant cloak that covers multitude of sin rather than the understanding that grace can only be accessed from the point of obedience.

Since when 'touch not my anointed' became the creed.

How not to learn

Why would a 4-yr old child from Nigeria who is able to recite the alphabets A-Z, numbers 1-100, States and capitals etc., still be seen not to be as smart as a child of the same age from UK who at the best try can only read 1-20 and identify few different colours?

The answer will most likely be that the UK child possess a deeper cognitive knowledge which can be attributed to their different methods of learning.
While one was taught how to read, the other was taught how to think.

Due to the ever-accelerating pace of a changing and uncertain world, there is a need to expand our definition of learning from an emphasis on listening to lectures in classrooms and comprehension of page text, to the need for a broader set of skills that requires more activity-based competencies across a wide range of subjects and disciplines.
We have heard many CEOs mentioned that average Nigerian graduates are unemployable, this is true because opportunities for learning in Nigeria to a large extent are determined in classrooms only by teachers, and by the activities and experiences offered to the learner.
The world is changing but the Nigerian learning system is not. Other countries are developing deeper learning methods of constructing and transfering knowledge through active learning but we are still stucked in our linear mode of learning through cramming.
The Nigerian students appear intelligent on paper but in reality are not learning anything new.

Active learning, which is a newer approach to learning adopted by Western countries, recognise the importance of allowing students to take control of their learning and move beyond the role of passive listeners to the constructors of their own knowledge.
The students are not only given the freedom to think but also to create meaning by the application of concepts being learned to real-world contexts.
This is the only kind of learning that can bring meaningful developments to any society.

I have taken the pain to dig into the learning system in Nigeria compared to that of the developed nations just to highlight the reason why we do not have Nation builders. We do not have society changers because we are not raising any.
We are relying on foreigners to come and help build our land because we have failed to raise our sons and daughters to be able to perform this task.

So Nigeria at 55yrs have zero amenities, no defence, all sectors are non-functional, high national debts, more places of worship than factories, and high crime rate because we only appear intelligent on paper but are foolish in reality.

I'll submit by refering us to what happened recently on our political scene, where rather than focus on the articulateness and subtance exhibited by one of the presidential candidates in several of his interviews, the whole of Nigeria went in search of his certificate. We chose not to see the deeper knowledge this man has over the other PhD-certificate carrier with no substance because that is how we were raised- to be superficial.

We are not being raised rightly.
We are learning with no content.
We are being taught how to read not how to think.

Thinking makes all the difference.

The same clueless Nollywood people (i don't want to call them celebs because they are not) that cannot write a meaningful script for a 90-min movie, are the ones encouraging Nigerians to vote for GEJ to continue!

The same hungry Nollywood people that beg for money on social media to get transferred to India or South Africa for treatment when they fall sick, are the ones same ones encouraging Nigerians to vote for GEJ to continue!

The same Nollywood people that lack the capability to elect a president for their association are the ones telling Nigerians that they know who is right to lead the country forward.

These greedy people know that even as talentless as they are, GEJ would still not get a role in their sub-standard movie industry talkless of offering him the leadership responsibilty of this nation, but they cannot say the truth because they are thinking with their stomachs and not their brains.

These descendants of Esau are satisfied with the annual dinner at Aso rock and cash gifts which GEJ offers, rather than push the government to implement policies to fight piracy, the demon that is responsible for the wretchedness of their industry and members.

These people who are talking, prostitutes their bodies to members of the cabal in this corrupt goverment. They know that if GEJ and his cohorts are kicked out of power, they also will be permanently kicked out of relevance, afterall acting no longer pays.

This post is not to convass votes for GMB. It is a call for Nigerians not to take these bunch of jokers serious. Their conscience have been seared.
They were not thinking about the collective welfare and progress of Nigeria while they stood on that podium. They said 'the only reason you should vote for GEJ is because he has been good to Nollywood'.

Who is nollywood?

Shameless people.

Somebody, somewhere is watching

Just because hardwork is usually not rewarded monetarily, most people avoid going the extra mile. They justify this by saying 'afterall i won't be paid for it'.

What i have realised is that hardwork is rewarded by good recommendation which is far better than money.
There is no limit to where you can reach in life when people can put good words out there for you.

Good references can court favour for you in a place where mercy is an alien word.

Put your best into everything you do whether you are getting paid for it or not. Don't bother even if it seems your hardwork is not being noticed. Somebody, somewhere is watching.
That somebody will someday say something somewhere that'll open doors which money cannot open for you.

The messiah of Nigeria is not abroad

Folks back home think that Nigerians abroad are better just because we speak passionately about the state of the Nation, and sometimes share intelligent and insightful views.

The truth of the matter is that we are no saints. The likes of James Ibori, Dimeji Bankole and the Balotelli of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose, who just like his counterpart at Liverpool fc have been given a second chance at the top flight are recent examples. These people and others all came from abroad to hold various public positions in Nigeria but never fared better. We need no further proof to show that some other factors are at play, rather than just the parts of the world we live in.

Firstly, the Nigerian environment which encourages abuse of office, power or position, is one of the contributing factors to why anyone who gets to power irrespective of where they have lived or studied, contributes to the rot rather than implemeting a change.

Secondly, Nigeria has a culture of not digging deep to know a person fully well before committing them to certain responsibilities. We attach too much sentiments to trivalities like 'abroad-ness', tribe, and religion rather than focusing on who the person is really is. If personal integrity was one of the determinants we have used in the past in our selection process, then somebody who had once been convicted of financial fraud abroad would not have been allowed to govern a state.

The saviour of Nigeria is not abroad. We should stop waiting for those abroad to come and help fix the country because we think they are better exposed. Maybe most people don't even realise that majority travelled abroad out of frustration to better their lives, and 10-15years down the line they are still stucked in the work-pay bills cycle. The sad truth is that average Nigerians abroad who want to join politics are not doing so with genuine interest for the nation, but rather see it as a golden ticket to escape from the stressful lives they are living abroad. So what do you expect when somebody with such mindset is picked to operate within that same corrupt environment?

Nigeria needs what i call a system re-engineering. This current system cannot serve the country any further good. A system where even relatives see your position of power as 'your time' to take the family lineage out of poverty. They want you to rebuild the family house, re-accomodate all the olori-ebis, employ all the jobless youths within the extended family.... It has now become a system 'for our family' rather than for 'the people'.

Not even if God were to send down an angel can there be any progress in that land if we do not replace/repair this present system. See what is happening now to madam owe-gele ojuyobo Iweala. The economy under her watch is now in a complete mess despite all her 'abroad' degree and experience. So it's either she was over-rated from the onset and we don't know about it, or she has been corrupted by the system because she seemed genuine when she initially surfaced in the government.

The messiah of Nigeria is not abroad. The system, and the determinants we use in choosing public office holders are what we need to change inorder to have a better Nigeria.
