Nigeria: The crowned king of the Continent.

For 90 mins, Boko Haram joined pastor to sing while watching the game at a viewing centre:
"EJE TO J'EJE LO
KO WA TUWA SILE
EJE TO SAN NI KALFARI
KO WA DA WA LARE"

When we scored, Hausa man hugged an Ijaw man

After we won the match, Nigerians celebrated together. We forgot about our religious differences, ethnics supremacy, and political affliations.

We can still be united. It is the greed of some few that has set us against ourselves.
These evil ones know that they can only carry out their deeds if they succeed in making us dis-united.

Can this be a turning point in our lives?
Can we all set outside our individual desires and fight together like these 11 individuals to achieve a better Nigeria?
Can everyone in positions of authority and trust do what is just?

We only need to see causes that will make us smile often. We have forgotten how to celebrate and laugh.
Nigeria: Ojoojumo la nji ri 'ya.

Integrity

I found this picture online and i was immediately moved to write something about the subject -INTEGRITY, using the image as a giude.

Suppose i don't know the meaning of the word 'integrity' and i don't have access to a dictionary to look up the meaning, the following are some of the things that would come to my mind by just looking at that picture:

- Integrity is not honesty. It is consistency of character.
No matter how you re-arrange the variables, as long as they remain the same you cannot get a different result.

- Integrity is a virtue.
Integrity has no need of remembering the rules. Those who have it simply act according to the principles.

- Integrity causes pain but it does not compromise.
At some point in life there will be a clash of conflicting interests whereby you will be required to compromise your values. People call it all sorts: 'Diplomacy' 'Gentleman Agreement', 'white lie' etc.  However, those who have integrity are ready to die for the values they claim to hold. They are not easily threatened. They see the pain and calamity it brings as just a TEST.

Integrity is not a conditional word. It doesn't blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and you are in integrity when the life you are living on the outside matches who you are on the inside.

Look around you today, do you know anyone with such quality?

I am back to my first love.

Ok i think a real man (ogidi okunrin) should not be caught with any of these designer shower gels around now because they are nothing but fruity scented concoctions. THEY DON'T SCRUB YOU WELL!

Well, my wife bought me one of these designer body wash, to be honest i got carried away with the fragrance-musky and masculine, so i finished it. She was impressed and bought another and another...and before i knew it, our bathroom was filled with these things in huge containers for male, female, and unisex (see wahala). Na so i join the league of 'Ajebutters' o not knowing that 'i am doing mysef'' mo nse ara mi ni.

One day i looked at myself in the mirror and i discovered how dull my skin was looking especially my face.... Ki leleyi? na these chemicals damage my skin like this? So i said enough is enough with these slippery substances. Afterall i don't even like how it leaves my my skin slippery after bath. Ara mi a sa ma yo bi ara eja! Na wetin na?!

So i went back to my first love- Wrigth's Traditional soap. Ose ibile fun awon ogidi okunrin. I was introduced to this soap few years back by a very good friend of mine and i never looked back until i got entangled in this shower gel mess.

This soap works well for me as it removes pretty much every trace of dirt and grime, and leaves my skin squeaky clean and refreshed.

Now before the association of shower gel users stone me to death, I don't mean to condemn you all i am saying is that it just didn't work for me. If it works for you continue biko. No Vex.

The koko of the story is ''stick to what works best for you. Everything is available but not everything is beneficial.''

Call me oldskool or omo-oko i agree!

Forget Government for now, see wetin dey kill us...

Somebody asked me why is it that Nigerians don't really do well in their choice of profession/business or why is it that they don't last long before they fade away?
I mentioned  the following few points as to what i think might be wrong:

* Mediocrity.
Truth be said Nigerians are the greatest copycats. They jump on things regardless of wether they have the passion and knowledge required or not. In as much as someone is doing it and making money, dem sef must do am. And ofcourse, it's an avenue to get cheap publicity and become a celebrity. 'Awon celebrity oloorun'. Until everything spoil dem no go comot.
See the joke our entertainment industry has become now. Watching some movies is simply an insult to your intelligence. Music nko? Isshhhh...
Dem don dey enter photography and fashion now.
NO STANDARD PURE AND SIMPLE.
As bad as it is, these people won't even take time to develop their skills...

*Lack of attention to details.
This makes whatever effort that has been put into the job to become irrelevant. Ofcourse this is expected because once you are doing what you have no business doing, you will make a mess of it. Creativity zero. So you don't have that inner eye to see things.

*Desire to make quick profit.
This result in making compromise in key areas which will lead to eventual collapse and death of the venture. The first thing that will be affected is quality which graduates into loss of reputation.
Build a strong brand and you can command whatever profit you want in the long run.
Only those who are doing something because of the love of it will devote their time to building something worthwhile. Profit should be relegated to the background where it belongs (for the time being).

*Strong dislike for criticism.
Critics are seen as enemies of progress. Calling their attention to areas where they can improve is like pulling them down.
So how do you expect someone who hates correction to succeed?

I know there could be more reasons but i see the above as the key ones.

5% Action, 95% Spirituality

(Satan listening to news re-cap)

Newscaster: The Senate President, David Mark, on Thursday in Abuja appealed to senators to fast for the Super Eagles, if it would ensure their victory over the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Satan (Angry): All these people and fasting! They do only 5% of what's required and pray for 95% divine help. This is what happens when a nation becomes too over-religious, they loose their common sense and misplace their priorities. Can you imagine a whole Senate of a country engaging in such frivolity?!
When did they declare a fast for peace to reign? When did they declare a fast for developmental progress? When did they break a sweat to fight corruption, treasury looters, kidnappers, yahoo yahoo, and armed robbers?
(Getting up and screaming) WHEN WILL THEY DECLARE A BLOODY FAST TO HAVE CONSTANT SUPPLY OF POWER? WWWWWHHHHHHEEEENNNNNN?!

(Koradini heard the scream and rushed in)

Koradini: Hope all is well my lord....hope all is well?

(Satan not noticing him continued)

Satan: Evil people fasting! Nobody even knows how much billions it'll require for them to buy food and drinks to break this fast. Me don't even know! i don't even know how i lost the control of this country sef? HOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW?????
